Challenge day!!
So the day started with a 6.30 alarm after a good night sleep. I woke to a slight disappointment that my legs were still aching. Yesterday was meant to be a rest day but still ended with 25,000 steps.
Not one to disappoint myself and you wonderful followers, I packed up the remains of the van and drove to Rhyd Ddu carpark at the base of Snowdon.
£6 for all day parking is all it cost.
The path of my choice was quick hop, skip and a jump over the train tracks, probably should be conserving my energy.
The heat by 8am was already making me realise that this was going to be hard work but well worth the effort.
The Rhydd Ddu path fools you by starting off nice and easy with gravel underfoot and a gentle incline, but this soon turns into a much steeper incline and I found myself pushing through the pain of those already achy legs.
3 ltrs of water and plenty of snacks in my bag kept me well hydrated and replenished the calories that were being burnt at a rapid rate in the heat.
Ridge line!
After a 2 hour slog and lots of sweat i reached the start of Llechog ridge. This was the section, after watching YouTube videos from fellow climbers, that I was most excited about, but also a little apprehensive. You will see why in the photos below.
Summits up!!
Next goal from the ridge line is the summit which is in sight and doesnt look to far, but trust me this is hard work.
Eventually after 3.5 hours I made it to the summit, which took my breath away even more than the climb with the stunning panoramic view.
After getting my photo touching the Summit stone, I had a nosy round the gift shop and then perched on the mountain side while I had a bite to eat and rested my weary legs before I punished them further with the trek back down.

Heaven!!
The literature carved into the stone is more accurate than you can imagine, it feels like the sky is only an outstretched arm away.
Check out the video below for the panoramic view!!
What goes up must come down!!
And that includes me unfortunately. I could of stayed admiring the view for alot longer but the summit was plagued with flying ants(or something similar) and they were getting everywhere!
So I started my walk down, in someways I found this harder, the pressure on my knees and feet causing my legs to shake with each step.
After 2 hours without stopping I made it back to the carpark. Feeling an immense amount of pride in what I had achieved.
I met some lovely people throughout this walk of all different levels of fitness, but if you are thinking of experiencing this for yourself I would 100% suggest the Rhydd Ddu trail as the views are second to none.
Are you brave enough???
Lunch Tesco style!!
So once I refilled all my water bottles, drank most of them, and refilled again I headed north towards my next destination.
I have stopped on Route in Caernarfon to grab a bite to eat, Tuna and sweetcorn pasta in Tesco and im currently sat in the carpark under the shade of some trees updating all of today's adventure so far.
From summit to Supper!
The sweat-soaked ascent of Snowdon on this year's hottest day was a battle, but the promise of an ice-cold pint kept me going. Post-summit, Black Betty guzzled a full tank in Caernarfon before we set our sights on Rosgoch, a charming Anglesey village. Tonight, it's all about a hearty 7 PM pub meal and the luxury of free overnight parking before I hit the road again at first light. #TheRingAnglesey

Pie and chips!
So I decided to go for the pie of the day, a chicken and chorizo mix topped with flaky pastry, served with home made chips and garden peas. It was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing.

Bedtime!!
After an evening sat chatting to Paul and Julia(from Congleton) and their gorgeous Cocker Spaniel I am done in. It was nice to meet you guys and the conversation around spiritualism, religion and beliefs could of gone way into the night.
For those that know me will know that me saying im off to bed at 20:30 is unheard of but that's what I'm doing.
Today's immense mission has shattered me out and I have an early start of being on the road no later than 06.30 tomorrow for the final leg of my journey, which for most of you will be a complete surprise!!
